ABOUT

Sampurna means wholeness or completeness.

For a Kathak dancer, true artistic growth happens when movement, rhythm, and music come together. In Europe, opportunities to train regularly with live musicians are rare, which makes this workshop a particularly valuable experience.

This intensive workshop will be guided by Amit Mishra, internationally acclaimed tabla artist and renowned accompanist for Kathak. His deep understanding of laya, layakari, and the dialogue between dancer and musician offers students a unique opportunity to explore rhythm not as a concept, but as a living conversation.

Participants will work directly with live tabla and sarangi accompaniment, developing a deeper understanding of timing, musicality, improvisation, and he relationship between movement and sound. The presence of Anik Mishra on sarangi will further enrich the experience, helping dancers discover how

melody influences expression, movement quality, and artistic interpretation. Whether you are beginning your Kathak journey or are already an experienced dancer, this workshop offers a rare opportunity to experience Kathak in its most complete form—alive, interactive, and deeply connected to music.

SAMPURNA is more than a workshop. It is an invitation to experience Kathak as it was meant to be experienced: in dialogue with live musicians, guided by rhythm, inspired by melody, and enriched by tradition.

A rare opportunity to train with master musicians and discover the deeper relationship between dance, rhythm, and music.

ACERCA DE

Sampurna significa plenitud o integridad.
